You can make hosting work on Twitch in two ways: manually and automatically. Let’s check out both ways.
The Manual Process
First, you have to log in to the Twitch account and select your profile picture located in the screen’s upper-right region. Then you have to select ‘Channel’ from the drop-down menu.
When you are on the Twitch channel, you will see a chatting section on the screen’s right side. You have to select the field saying ‘Send a message.’
Now, you have to type ‘/host USERNAME’ without quotation marks. Here, ‘USERNAME’ will be the channel’s username. As an example, if someone’s username is ‘the_avenger,’ you have to type ‘/host the_avenger.’ Then you have to send your message after writing the command correctly.
However, if you don’t want to host another user’s channel in Twitch, you just need to type the command ‘/unhost’ without any quotation mark in the chat field.
It’s essential to remember that the hourly limit of the number of making host commands is only three. So when you begin to host a channel, then unhost the channel and begin to host another channel before that hour ends, you have to wait for the end of that hour to make more host commands.
The Automatic Process
You can also set up an automatic host list for letting your channel automatically begin hosting others during your offline period. First, you have to start Twitch and then log in. You have to select your profile picture located in the screen’s upper-right region.
Now, you have to select ‘Settings’ from the menu and select ‘Channels and Videos’ from the top of the settings page.
Now you have to scroll down the page, select ‘Auto Hosting,’ and then select the toggle ‘Auto host channels.’ It will flip to the right. As you turn on auto hosting, you have to select ‘Host list’ at the bottom.
Now you will see a page. Here, it’s possible to add channels to the auto host list. You have to search for your desired channels and select ‘Add.’ You have no limit on the number of channels for putting on the list.
It’s quite simple to understand how hosting works on Twitch. It will be beneficial if you know the basics of using Twitch.
